3 tips for your summer outfits

To take full advantage of summer’s energy and get through it with peace of mind, discover our tips for approaching this season with lightness and confidence:

1) Choose lightweight, breathable fabrics

  • Opt for natural materials such as cotton, linen, silk and merino wool; or artificial materials like the famous TENCEL fabric. They’ll be your best allies, whether in warm weather or on cool evenings.
  • Whether pure or blended, these materials offer a multitude of advantages:

The advantages of natural materials: woven from natural fibers without chemical treatment, these materials are breathable and, in most cases, biodegradable. To take full advantage of their benefits, choose fabrics with a higher natural fiber content than other fibers. The most commonly used in the textile industry are:

Linen

Derived from the stem of the eponymous plant, linen fiber is extremely resistant. It absorbs moisture well, and its “crumpled effect” charm evokes summer breezes.

Cotton

This plant fiber, naturally found around cotton seeds, is also resistant and comfortable to wear. It absorbs moisture from the body and helps the skin breathe. Hypoallergenic (very low in allergens) and easy to care for, cotton is an essential addition to our wardrobe.

Silk

Silk fiber comes from the cocoons of bombyx larvae, with each cocoon yielding 1,200 meters of thread. This smooth, naturally lustrous fiber immediately gives the fabric a luxurious appearance.

Resistant, supple and soft to the touch, silk provides incomparable comfort, sensuality and luminosity, which explains why so many designers are so enthusiastic about this noble material.

With its excellent absorbency and self-creasing properties, silk is a popular fabric that never goes out of fashion.

Merino wool

Merino wool comes directly from the hair of the Merino sheep, offering superior wool quality.

  • Its fibers are extremely fine, finer than a human hair, ensuring incomparable softness for the skin.
  • Breathable and thermoregulating, it keeps your body dry and cool all day long, summer and winter alike.
  • Thanks to the structure of its fibers, it is odorless and self-cleaning, crease-resistant and offers natural UV protection.

This wool has all the assets to seduce and satisfy us all year round.

Other fibers -Synthetics-

Synthetics such as polyester or spandex are made from the chemical transformation of petroleum products. These fabrics are generally affordable, easy to care for and offer a certain degree of comfort. However, they can sometimes be irritating and give off odors, as their structure more easily traps bacteria from perspiration. Although they account for around 80% of textiles used in the women’s fashion industry, these materials are increasingly mixed with others.

For maximum peace of mind, choose fabrics with a low proportion of synthetics to take full advantage of their properties.

Other fibers -Artificial-

Artificial materials are derived from natural waste, where the main component (cellulose) is transformed into fibers using a solvent.

  • Viscose, also known as rayon, is one of the most popular, made from wood pulp or cotton waste.
Lyocell (marketed under the brand name Tencel) is becoming increasingly popular as a main alternative, thanks to its ecological character and diverse properties.

Made from wood pulp (eucalyptus, bamboo, etc.) and a non-toxic solvent (99.77% recovered), lyocell requires very little water (95% less than cotton!).

Resistant and highly absorbent, it promotes excellent skin breathing, offering antibacterial action. This new fiber, is easy to care for, crease-resistant and biodegradable, making it a jewel to be cherished for years to come.

  • Choose fabrics rich in natural fibers for their breathable, thermoregulating, durable, hypoallergenic, UV-protective and odor-free properties, provided you follow their care instructions.
  • Opt for products with low levels of synthetic fibers, as they retain odors, can be irritating and are highly polluting.
  • Easily replace them with fabrics made from man-made fibers derived from the cellulose of natural waste, such as viscose/rayon. The best choice is Lyocell (TENCEL), which has properties similar to those of natural fibers, but is eco-friendly thanks to resource-efficient production, biodegradability, crease-resistance and easy care.

By following these simple tips, you’ll be able to choose your next summer garments in a way that’s kind to your skin and kind to the planet.

2) Take inspiration from the vitamin-rich shades of nature around you

According to Pantone’s fashion color trend report after New York Fashion Week SS24, two types of shades stand out as the key colors of the season:

Core colors: classics reinvented with a modern twist

Dopamine shot: vibrant colors that breathe joie de vivre and freedom

3) Go for practicality

Summer evokes lightness, freedom and simplicity.

To lighten the spirit, opt for clothes that, on their own, have the power to create a dazzling look.

The most effective pieces will be those that require few accessories or layering, blend perfectly with your existing wardrobe, slip on easily and accompany you throughout your daily activities.

Whether you prefer loose-fitting or tailored, choose designs that promote air circulation and offer total freedom of movement for optimum comfort, even in hot weather.

So you can get through the summer in total ease and serenity.
